About

Peace be upon you.

Woodlands Islamic Center — Masjid Abu-Huraira — is a home for worship, learning, and service for Muslims in The Woodlands and Spring, Texas.

Who we are

A growing community rooted in the Quran and Sunnah

Our mission is to create a welcoming and inclusive environment anchored in the rich traditions of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet (ﷺ).

Every Friday we gather to be reminded through the words of Allah, with practical teachings we can carry through the week. Throughout the year we pray together, learn together, and serve our neighbors together — and since 2004, volunteers, families, and supporters have kept this masjid open for everyone.

What we focus on

Three commitments

Community

At the heart of our center is a strong, vibrant community. Regular gatherings and events give members opportunities to connect, share experiences, and support one another.

Education

Educational programs for all ages, from interactive classes for children to adult sessions on the Quran, Arabic, Islamic history, and culture.

Connection

Livestreamed khutbahs, online lectures, and digital updates keep our teachings and community spirit accessible to everyone, wherever they are.

Named after Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him)

Abu Huraira was one of the companions of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), known for his devotion to learning and preserving the Prophet’s teachings. His example of seeking and sharing knowledge inspires our work.
